About this Policy
In order to provide you with DriversNow's Service (defined below) and give you the best possible experience on our platform, we need to collect and process your personal data. DriversNow connects drivers and logistics employers across South Africa, so it is necessary to our Service that we share certain of your personal data with other users of our Service and with selected third-party providers. Your privacy will always be of paramount importance to us and we are committed to protecting it. This privacy policy ("Policy") explains how, why and when we collect, store, share and use your personal data and outlines the controls and choices you have around sharing your personal data.
DriversNow's service includes all services and websites operated by DriversNow under the domain driversnow.co.za and which are governed by and defined in our Terms of Use located at driversnow.co.za/terms ("Service").
When you use our Service and submit personal data through the Service, you are telling DriversNow that you agree to the terms set out in this Policy as well as the terms set out in our Cookie Declaration. If you do not agree with anything in this Policy, then please let us know and discontinue your use of the Service immediately. This Policy applies if you contact us or we contact you about our Services, whether by telephone, email, text message, post, push notifications or using third-party platforms.
If you are unhappy with the way we are using your personal data or the way we process your request to exercise your rights as a data subject, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa), who can be contacted at inforeg@justice.gov.za or your local Data Protection Authority as may be applicable. Alternatively, if you do not agree with the content of this Policy, then please remember that it is your choice whether you want to use the DriversNow Services or not.
Changes to this Policy
We may make changes to this Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the changes to this page and updating the "last updated" date at the top of this Policy. If the changes are substantial, we will also let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our platform, prior to the change becoming effective. You are advised to review this Policy periodically for any changes.
We hope that this Policy will help you understand our privacy commitments to you. If you have any questions about your privacy, your rights, or how to exercise them, please contact our Information Officer using the information provided in the "How to Contact Us" section of this Policy. We will respond to your request within a reasonable period of time upon verification of your identity and no later than within one month of your request.

Sharing your personal data
DriversNow connects drivers and companies, so sharing certain personal data between these users is essential to our Service. We share your personal data in the following circumstances:
- Between users: We share driver profile information with companies searching the marketplace, and company and job information with drivers, to facilitate hiring. Companies unlock driver contact details in accordance with their chosen pricing plan, and drivers may view company and vacancy information.

- Legal compliance: We may disclose personal data where required by law, court order, or to cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, or other government authorities, including the Information Regulator.
- Business transfers: If DriversNow is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructure or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy.
- With your consent: We may share personal data with third parties where you have given us consent to do so.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Companies do not receive access to driver CV documents beyond what is necessary for the hiring process and in line with their plan, and drivers' private contact details remain under platform controls.
International transfers of personal data
DriversNow is based in South Africa, but some of our service providers may process personal data outside of South Africa. Where your personal data is transferred outside of South Africa, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data in accordance with POPIA, such as standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules, or transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.
Retention of personal data
We retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements. When determining retention periods, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure, and whether we can achieve our purposes through other means.
If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your profile from active use on the platform, subject to any retention we are required to maintain for legal, tax or dispute-resolution purposes. Please note that closing your account requires contacting our team, as set out in our Terms of Use.
Security of your personal data
We take the security of your personal data seriously and use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These measures include encryption, access controls, secure storage of sensitive documents such as driving licences and CVs (accessible only via short-lived signed links), and regular review of our systems. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
